David Rex Joyner

David Rex Joyner is an artist and educator from New Orleans. His work explores imagined abstract vistas in paintings, drawings, and constructions that vary in scale and process. His work is connected by an effort to marry spatial arrangements with gestural mark making. Joyner defines this methodology as Abstract Impressionism. He utilizes an inventory of gestural processes to create scapes and arrangements that evoke visions ranging from the subatomic to the cosmic.
